Tomas Krnan currently tops the field for the Ontario Closed. Are other heavyweights waiting in the wings?

A quick question: Will the Amateur (U2100 section)/Canadian Closed games be posted on the internet?

Hopefully we will see an updated pre-registered list with the current ratings published by the CFC today

I hate being at the bottom of the list.

Rarely one to disappoint, FM Hans Jung showed resourceful technique in bringing the host town a full point during the first day of action in the Ontario Closed. In doing so, he managed to be the last game to finish, wrapping it up shortly before 11pm. As a reward for his hard work, he gets White against IM Krnan in the morning round tomorrow.

In the Canadian Seniors Championship, top-seeded Ian Finlay had no answer to the wall that is Jamie Solis, and walked away with a halved point. Much to the delight of supporters from Kirkland Lake, this leaves Ralph Deline at the top of the crosstable, by virtue of his holding the highest rating amongst those grabbing a full point this evening. If memory serves, it will be Pierre Maheux looking to knock him off top board tomorrow morning.

I was not in charge of the Amateur today, but I noted that Danny McGlynn faces off against Hugh Siddeley on top board tomorrow morning. If I recall correctly, Danny upset Dan Raats to get there. As for the U1700, top-seeded Mate Milinkovic was served a stunning defeat at the hands of Mark Brauer. Let's hope tomorrow brings us more fighting chess!

Hi Patrick,

Can you please confirm that the 2010 Canadian Amateur Chess Championship
is FIDE rated this year? Maybe some participants may not be aware.

Thanks!
